Packaging Guide

How to Pack Your Device Safely

Good packaging is the single biggest factor in your device arriving in the same condition it left.

  1. 1

Switch off the device and remove accessories where appropriate.

  2. 2

Protect the device with multiple layers of bubble wrap or suitable cushioning.

  3. 3

Protect screens, controls, connectors and exposed components.

  4. 4

Use a strong corrugated cardboard box.

  5. 5

Fill empty spaces so the device cannot move.

  6. 6

    Wrap multiple items separately.

  7. 7

Seal securely using strong packing tape.

  8. 8

    Place the shipping label/address clearly.

  9. 9

Photograph the device and package before shipping.

  10. 10

Keep the courier receipt and tracking number.

Do not ship a device loosely packed in a thin plastic bag, paper envelope or oversized empty box.

Battery shipping safety

Battery-powered devices can present safety risks during transport, particularly when batteries are damaged, swollen, punctured, leaking, overheated or otherwise defective.

Customers must comply with applicable courier and transportation rules.

Do not ship a swollen, leaking, damaged or otherwise hazardous battery without contacting Gadget Rescues first and confirming whether shipment is permitted.

Transit damage

Safe packaging is the customer's responsibility.

Inadequate packaging may contribute to damage during transit. Please photograph the following before you hand the parcel to the courier:

  • The device before packing
  • Any existing damage
  • The packaging itself
  • The sealed parcel

Please retain the courier receipt. If a parcel arrives visibly damaged, Gadget Rescues may document the condition through photographs or video and communicate with you about it.
